Mongolia’s Prime Minister pays an official visit to the Republic of Korea

Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh is paying an official visit to the Republic of Korea on January 15-17. Within a scope of the visit, the PM paid a courtesy call on Moon Jae-in, President of the Republic of Korea.

At the meeting, President Moon Jae-in expressed an aspiration to upgrade bilateral comprehensive partnership into strategic partnership.

In return, Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh said he satisfied with commencing his first foreign visit from ‘third neighbor’ the Republic of Korea.  The PM thanked the S.Korean government for granting a soft loan worth USD500 million within the framework of Extended Fund Facility arrangement with the International Monetary Fund and wished the President a success for his significant work to organize the Winter Olympics.

On January 16, South Korea’s Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Young-joo hosted a breakfast meeting for Mongolia’s Prime Minister.

At the meeting, Minister Kim Young-Joo mentioned the Ministry’s plan to increase quota of Mongolians working in South Korea thanks to good results of people who worked in Korea in 2017 and decreasing number of illegal immigrants.

During his official visit, the PM attended the business forum of two countries in Seoul. At the business forum, U.Khurelsukh emphasized, “Businessmen shoulder the heaviest loads of the country’s development. We will strengthen mutual confidence and provide comprehensive and constant support to businessmen”.
