President Battulga meets Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Lee Nak-Yeon

President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga arrived today at the international airport of Vladivostok, Russia, to attend the 4th Eastern Economic Forum.

Following the President’s arrival to Russky Island where the Eastern Economic Forum is taking place, Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Lee Nak-yeon paid a courtesy call.

At the beginning of the meeting, President Battulga mentioned the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea, which will fall in 2020, and expressed his wish to advance bilateral relations tangibly in anticipation of the anniversary.

President Battulga made proposals and exchanged elaborate views on intensifying bilateral cooperation, developing cooperation in the areas of technology, innovation, tourism, agriculture, and energy, and establishing a council to support young businesspeople of the two countries.

Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon emphasized that he would be pleased to accept and work on the business proposals made by President Battulga and made a proposal for Mongolia to cooperate on President Moon Jae-in’s initiative to establish a railway community in the Northeast Asian region.

The sides agreed to work toward upgrading the level of bilateral cooperation and bringing it to that of strategic partnership.
