EU to enhance CSOs’ contribution to governance and development processes
The European Union (EU) is inviting proposals from eligible organizations for a program entitled 'Mongolia- Civil Society Organizations: Enhancing CSOs’ Contribution to Governance and Development Processes’ to enhance CSO’s capacities to contribute to governance and development process in Mongolia through capacity building, networking, advocacy and research.
Birth rate increases by 5.4 percent
In the first 10 months of 2018, 64.1 thousand mothers delivered 64.5 thousand babies (live births), increased by 3295 mothers (5.4 percent) and 3328 live births (5.4 percent) compared to the same period of the previous year. In October 2018, 6519 mothers delivered 6554 babies (live births), increased by 286 mothers (4.6 percent) and 270 live births (4.3 percent) compared to the previous month.
National currency in circulation reaches MNT 887.8 billion
The money supply reached MNT 18.3 trillion at the end of October 2018, showing an increase of MNT 391.3 billion (2.2 percent) from the previous month and by MNT 3.8 trillion (26.1 percent) from the same period of the previous year.
Domestic trade sales increases by MNT 1.7 trillion
At the national level, total 85.5 thousand of entities were active in the first nine months of 2018. Of those 34.1 thousand (39.9 percent) were in the wholesale and retail trade sector.
Revenue from rail transport grows
In the first 10 months of 2018, 21.1 million tonnes of freight and 2.2 million passengers (double counting) were carried by railway transport. Compared to the same period of previous year, the number of carried freight increased by 2.6 million tonnes (14.2 percent), whereas the number of carried passengers decreased by 53.7 thousand passengers (2.4 percent).
