Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Taking part in the 72nd Regular Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Ts.Munkh-Orgil met Susan Thornton, Acting Assistant Secretary of the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs, the US State Department on September 20.
Susan Thornton said that the Mongolia-US relations and cooperation are developing successfully and the Mongolia-US-Japan trilateral meeting has been conducted efficiently. She expressed US interest to cooperate in economic and finance sectors as well as fighting against money laundering through rendering assistance and implementing project and programs. Susan Thornton thanked Mongolia for its successful work as a member of UN Human Rights Council.
Acting Minister Ts.Munkh-Orgil requested US support to projects to be implemented by the Millenium Challenge Corporation, further cooperation in agriculture and renewable energy sectors and to progress of involvement of Mongolia in H2 visa program.
The parties also exchanged views on some pressing issues in international relations.
