Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Labor and Social Protection S.Chinzorig met Tim De Meyer, Director of the International Labor Organization (ILO) Country Office for Mongolia and China, on December 6.
At the beginning of the meeting Minister S.Chinzorig underlined Mr.Tim De Meyer’s contribution to increasing employment, upgrading legal environment in labor relations and amending Labor Law of Mongolia during his term of working in charge of Mongolia at the ILO over last four years. The Minister wished success to Mr.Tim De Meyer for his new appointment at the ILO Headquarters in Geneva.
Moreover the Minister expressed his appreciation for increasing support in direction of social protection and widening scope of cooperation with the ILO. Amendments to Labor Law of Mongolia will be discussed by the Government and submitted to the Parliament very soon. The ILO is paying attention to it and giving assistance and technical advices as well, he said.
The Ministry is working to revise law on sending labor force abroad and receiving labor force and specialists from abroad and Minister S.Chinzorig requested the ILO to render support to it. Also he asked to study possibilities to widen the scope of consulting services on assessment of salary and labor value in mining sector with assistance of the ILO, involving other sectors.
Mr.Tim De Meyer congratulated Minister S.Chinzorig for his appointment and he pledged to study the Minister's requests and stated the ILO would support some actions.
