Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar awarded Order “Chinggis Khaan”

On the occasion the 854th birth anniversary of Great Chinggis Khaan which is marked as the National Pride Day, the top state prize of Mongolia, the Order of Chinggis Khaan, is awarded each year to a prominent individual who has contributed outstandingly to the nation.

This year’s award went to Mr Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar, State Honored Artist and the Grand Prix winner of the 15th International Tchaikovsky Competition. 

The award was presented to him on Monday by the President of Mongolia.

G. Ariunbaatar (baritone) graduated from the Mongolian State University of Culture and Arts in 2010.

In 2011, he became a prize-winner of the XXIV International Glinka Vocalists’ Competition in Moscow, also taking the “Best Baritone of the Competition” award and the Special Pavel Lisitsian Prize.

In 2014 he took the 1st prize at the III International Muslim Magomayev Vocalists’ Competition in Moscow. Since 2014 he has worked with the Buryat State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.  From September 2015  G.Ariunbaatar has been a soloist at the St Petersburg's Mariinsky Theatre.

In 2015 he won 1st prize (Gold Medal) and the Grand Prix at the XV International Tchaikovsky Competition.
