Inauguration ceremony of ‘War Horses’ monument in Moscow held

A ceremony to unveil ‘War Horses’ monument, which was gifted by the people of Mongolia on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Great Patriotic War was held in the Victory Park on the Poklonnaya Hill, Moscow on May 5. The monument with two horses dragging an artillery gun symbolizes Mongolia’s invaluable aid during the war.
 
“War Horses” monument created by Mongolian sculptor A.Ochirbold was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory marked in 2015. President of Mongolia, Ts.Elbegdorj during his participation in the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Victory of the Great Patriotic War in Moscow presented the monument to the Russian side.
 
The event was co-organized by the Embassy of Mongolia in Moscow and the Government of Moscow.
 
In his speech during the ceremony, Foreign Minister Ts.Munkh-Orgil said “During those difficult years of the Great Patriotic War, the people of Mongolia sent warm clothes, foods and half-a-million Mongolian horses to the Soviet Union and also provided aircraft squadron named ‘People of Mongolia” and “Revolutionary Mongolia” tanks. “Mongolian horses reached Berlin along with the Soviet tanks during the Great Patriotic War” he added.
