MONTSAME and Sputnik expand their cooperation

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On September 19, Mongolian National News Agency (MONTSAME), Mongolia’s largest state news agency and the Sputnik news agency and radio of the Russian Federation established a cooperation agreement.

The document was signed by Sergei Kochetkov, Sputnik First Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Ganchimeg Badamdorj, MONTSAME Director-General. According to the agreement, which supplements the current cooperation memo between Sputnik and MONTSAME, the parties agreed to expand cooperation in content production and exchange. The sides also will strengthen professional ties and will exchange experience in the media.

“It is very important for Sputnik to develop cooperation with such a reputable partner as the MONTSAME. The signing of this agreement is an important milestone in our work not only with Mongolian media, but also with Asia in general,” Sergei Kochetkov said.

“Since its foundation, the MONTSAME news agency has been cooperating with the news agencies of its two neighbor countries. Recently, we have upgraded our cooperation agreement with the Sputnik. I believe that our cooperation will make a valuable contribution to Mongolian-Russian relations and cooperation in the years to come,” said Ganchimeg Badamdorj.

MONTSAME News Agency was established in 1921. Since then, the MONTSAME has been providing news in Mongolian, English, Japanese, Chinese, Russian by variety of news outlets.

The Sputnik is a news agency and radio network with multimedia news hubs in dozens of countries. It broadcasts through its websites in over 30 languages, analog and digital radio, mobile apps and social media. Sputnik newswires run around the clock in English, Arabic, Spanish and Chinese.
