Mongolia and France to cooperate in prevention of disaster risks

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Head of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Major-General T.Badral received Thursday Lieutenant-Colonel Frederic L'homme, Regional Counselor on Civil Protection Affairs of the French Embassy in China.

Beginning the meeting, T.Badral noted that the Mongolia-France relations and cooperation have been intensifying in the field of protection from disasters and believes that the ties will expand further.

The sides exchanged views on establishing a cooperation agreement between the NEMA and the French Council of Civil Protection and Safety, preparing Mongolian rescue pilots and technicians in France and organizing joint exercises. The parties also discussed issues on permanently organizing the ongoing exercises of emergency and medical aid, which is running at the Disaster Prevention Research and Methodology Center on October 16-20.
