Mongolia to cooperate in disaster prevention with South Korea

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A working group headed by Colonel G.Batbayar, Head of the Emergency Management Agency of Darkhan-Uul aimag paid a working visit  to Gyeonggi province, South Korean on November 8-11.

The delegates exchanged views on establishing ties and cooperation with departments in charge of search and rescue of cities in Gyeonngi province. Moreover, they expressed their position on upgrading memorandum of cooperation in disaster prevention and relief sector into an agreement and on  as well as on capacity building of servants and improving technique and technology of the National Emergency Management Agency.

Under the theme “Structure of disaster management and ensuring development", the working group got familiarized with activities of the Gyeonggi province’s General Disaster Command Center, the Fire and Disaster Headquarters, the Disaster Management Research Center and the Civil Defense Center, learning from their experiences, latest technologies and new ideas to introduce in Mongolia as well. This visit was coincided with the National Emergency Management Agency Day of South Korea. Mayor of Gyeonggi province met  the delegates.
