J.Galbadrakh awarded with Order of Rising Sun of Japan

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A ceremony to award the Order of the Rising Sun to President of Shine Mongolia Academic Institute took place at the Embassy of Japan in Mongolia on December 06.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia Masato Takaoka said " It has been almost a year since he was appointed as the Ambassador. Over this period, he met many people, of whom J.Galbadrakh made a great impression. He made invaluable contribution to introduce Japanese education program in Mongolia and deepen the mutual understanding between the two countries". The ambassador also remarked the achievement of Shine Mongol School that was founded by J.Galbadrakh and added that His Majesty Emperor of Japan awarded him with the Order of Rising Sun in recognition of his contribution to the education sector.  

In his speech J.Galbadrakh said “As of today, 372 students graduated from Shine Mongol School are studying in Japanese universities and institutes with Japanese Government Scholarship and investors’ support. The scholarship granted to Mongolian students amounts USD 9 million" emphasizing contributiion of the Shine Mongol School to  Mongolian education and development to the relations of Mongolia and Japan.

J.Galbadrakh started introducing Japanese education program in Mongolia when he was studying in Yamagata University in 1995. He founded a Mongolian high school with Japanese characteristics in 2000 with the help of  Japanese supporters. Having expanded it since 2000, Shine Mongol Academic Institute now has elementary, secondary and high schools and Shine Mongol Institute of Technology. J.Galbadrakh works collaboratively with Rotary Yoneyama Scholarship and Mabuchi International Scholarship Foundation.
