Mongolia and the Netherlands celebrate 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Netherlands, an event themed “Mongolia Diplomats Meet & Greet” was co-organized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, 'Diplomat Magazine' journal and Carlton Ambassador hotel on November 30 in Hague, the Netherlands.

Ambassador of Mongolia to the Netherlands O.Och expressed his gratitude to the Netherlands for its support for Mongolia's transition to democracy and market economy and also expressed his appreciation to current cooperation in fields of agriculture, water management and renewable energy.  

The event was attended by over 100 delegations from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, diplomatic missions and international organizations.  

Director of Asia and Oceania Department of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs Peter Potman highlighted the result of the project returning wild horses (Przewalski's horse) to Mongolia, implemented with the help of the Dutch Government. “As a result of the project now there are over 200 wild horses in Mongolia”, he added.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the return of wild horses to Mongolia and the initiators of the project Inge Bouman and Annette Groeneveld were attended the ceremony. During the event a documentary film on the project was screened.

Also Mongolian traditional music was performed by Khan Bogd ethnic band and Mongolian dishes were served  to the guests by Modern Nomads restaurant.
