Mongolia and Russia to move forward their transportation projects

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Road and Transport Development J.Bat-Erdene held an official meeting with his Russian counterpart M.Yu.Sokolov on December 07 when he attended “Russian Transportation Week-2017” at the invitation from December 02 to 08. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Russian Federation B.Delgermaa attended the meeting as well.
 
The parties exchanged opinions on current state of cooperation in the sectors of railway, road and air freights at meeting. Specifically, they agreed to sign ‘Intergovernmental agreement on Conditions of Rail freight transportation’ in the near future, complete implementation of the ‘Intergovernmental agreement on international road transport along the Asian highway network’, formulate feasibility studies for priority projects reflected in ‘Mongolia-China-Russia Economic Corridor ’, implement renovation projects of Ulaanbaatar Railway and increase the number of transit freights. The parties also agreed to intensify cooperation to move forward the project of north corridor en route Kuragino-Kyzyl-Ovoot-Erdenet.
