Polar Star Order awarded to Korean citizen Ko Beon Sok

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In accordance with a decree of President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga, citizen of the Republic of Korea Ko Beon Sok awarded Polar Star Order, State Honored Prize of Mongolia.

The award was presented by G.Baigalmaa, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Office of the President on January 12. “In high recognition of his contribution to medical sector and humanitarian cooperation between Mongolia and the Republic of Korea, President of Korean Open Doctors Society Ko Beon Sok, is hereby awarded the Polar Star Order”, the Presidential decree says.

Mr.Ko Beon Sok started to work in Mongolia in 1997 and launched humanitarian work, studying the population's illness rate. He worked as a President of Korean Open Doctors Society and collaborated with Mongolian Red Cross for 20 years and hospitals and medical centers of 21 aimags and districts of Ulaanbaatar city. He gratuitously involved vulnerable group of people in medical examination by professional doctors and gave advices. Furthermore, he organized medical humanitarian works  in ten aimags including Khentii, Dornod, Dundgobi, Umnugobi, Uvurkhangai, and Nalaikh and Bayanzurkh districts and he made 30 children to take  free of charge operations in Korea and involved more than 54 thousand people in medical treatment and diagnosis.
