Ulaanbaatar to cooperate with Ulan-Ude to reduce smog

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On January 18, Governor of the Capital city and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar S.Batbold met Alexey Sambuevich Tsydenov, Head of the Republic of Buryatia, who is visiting Mongolia on January 18-20.

During the meeting, S.Batbold said, “Visa-free travel between Mongolia and Russia since 2014 has stimulated tourism development and opened a gate to develop bilateral cooperation in economy, culture and tourism.”

In turn, A.S.Tsydenov expressed his satisfaction with meeting Ulaanbaatar mayor. “Previously I came to Ulaanbaatar city several times. Every time I came to the city, I notice Ulaanbaatar’s development progress into becoming beautiful city. This time, our delegation comprises of many businessmen as well as representatives of agriculture, forestry industry, eco-friendly fuel production, energy and tourism fields. Ulan-Ude city has an international standard airport. It is possible to airplanes which conduct direct flights from Ulaanbaatar to Seoul, Tokyo and Manzhouli to stop in Ulan-Ude, making transit flight without any permission and red tape. It would raise passenger flow,” he said.

Head of the Republic of Buryatia Alexey Tsydenov also underlined a necessity to develop auto and rail transit transportation between Mongolia, China and Russia, and to intensify container shipping.

Ulaanbaatar Mayor S.Batbold spoke about smog and air pollution in Ulaanbaatar, the capital's main problem. 
On this matter, Alexey Tsydenov, head of the Republic of Buryatia, expressed a commitment to cooperate with Ulaanbaatar city government to get rid of smog, introducing its new  technological projects. 

In addition, the sides exchanged views on expanding bilateral economic relations and developing cooperation in education, tourism, culture and energy sectors.

Present at the meeting were I.I.Zuraev, acting Minister of Economic Development, D.Sh.Chiripov, Minister of Agriculture and Foodstuffs and acting Minister of Rural Development, and A.S.Mishenin, Minister of Food, Trade and Industry of the Republic of Buryatia.
