PM wraps up rural trip with visit to Dundgobi aimag

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ Government members led by Prime Minister U.Khurelsukh worked in Dundgobi aimag on April 14.

Dundgobi aimag’s governor O.Bat-Erdene reported that the aimag administration accumulated MNT1.8 billion from mineral license holders as tax, spent MNT1.6 billion from Local Development Fund on development of the aimag as well as regularly organizes festivals for airag (fermented mare’s milk), horses and camels to promote tourism and received 13.4 thousand tourists last year.

The aimag implements projects and programs in partnership with S.Korea, Japan, Switzerland and Canada. It was decided to construct a Power Plant and Wastewater Treatment Plant and the relevant feasibilities studies are currently under formulation.

The aimag authorities requested the Government to connect Delgerkhangai and Ulziit soums with fibre optics, resolve financing for completing drama theatre building and for demolishing a indergarten  building for 150 children and build new one, reflecting sources in the 2019 state budget. 

The requests submitted by the aimag authorities were discussed and the Finance Minister was assigned to take measures to reflect required financing related to the kindergarten building and connecting Delgerkhangai and Ulziit soums with fibre optics in the 2019 State Budget. 
 
PM instructed to reinforce discipline and accountability in government institutions of all levels, demand productive accomplishments, ensure openness and transparency of all procurement of goods, works and services, charge officials who violated laws and regulations, improve the quality and effectiveness of public investment, and ensure efficiency of targeted spending by minimizing unnecessary expenditures and strictly take austerity measures.

After seeing some constructional works in the aimag and meeting with local people, the PM and government members concluded the rural trip and headed to Ulaanbaatar city.
