Infrastructure Committee established by AmCham Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The monthly meeting was hosted today by the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Mongolia, the organization that seeks to build, strengthen, protect business cooperation and to attract American investment to Mongolia.
 
The Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry, D.Sumiyabazar, the head of Mineral Resources and Petroleum Agency, Kh.Kherlen, directors of departments and divisions of the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry and other government officials attended the meeting.
 
Minister D.Sumiyabazar noted that “Today’s monthly meeting organized by AmCham is most welcomed in terms of time. As the minister, I am strictly adhering to a principle of undertaking a stable and open policy for investors who have demonstrated a great commitment and responsibility. The Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry will be ready to collaborate with AmCham’s newly established Mining, Heavy Industry and Infrastructure Committee in order to build and implement policies and leagl environment aimed at providing notable support to domestic and foreign investors.”
 
“The Ministry’s attempts to update major policy documents relevant to the mining production and heavy industry, including the elaboration of new Mining Law, are not only crucial to solving legal overlaps, but also vital to reviving investor confidence and attracting more foreign investment. In order to support Mongolia’s efforts to develop these leading sectors and to protect the rights and interests of the private sector, AmCham is establishing the new Mining, Heavy Industry and Infrastructure Committee with a view to develop a responsible and competitive mining sector capable of creating a solid and reliable foundation for economic growth and the country’s development”, said the Chairman of the AmCham, Steve Potter.
 
‘AmCham Mongolia’, the official branch of the American Chamber of Commerce, consists of 29 American Chambers of Commerce in the Asia-Pacific region.
