Gross industrial output figures shows increase of MNT 1.6 trillion

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In the first 8 months of 2018, the gross industrial output reached MNT9.8 trillion, showing an increase of MNT1.6 trillion (19.8 percent) from the same period of the previous year.

This increase was mainly due to an increase of mining and quarrying gross output by MNT1.1 trillion (18.2 percent), of which, mining of coal by MNT742.3 billion (46.0 percent) and mining of metal ores by MNT 218.4 (5.9 percent) billion.

In August 2018, the gross industrial output reached MNT1.2 trillion, increased by MNT8.4 billion (0.7 percent) compared to the previous month.

In the first 8 months of 2018, in mining sector, extraction of copper concentrate, zinc concentrate, fluorspar and gravel are increased by 0.7-42.5 percent. In manufacturing sector, and production of vacuum windows and doors, beer, alcoholic beverage, combed cashmere, fodder, sausage products, buuz and dumpling, cashmere products and wooden products are increased by 6.2-84.8 percent.

On the other hand, in mining sector, extraction of gold, molybdenum concentrate, coal, crude oil and iron are decreased by 0.4-18.5 percent. In manufacturing sector, productions of copper cathode, wooden window and door, and horse meat are decreased by 3.7-94.9 percent.

In the first 8 months of 2018, the sales of industrial production reached MNT11.4 trillion, from which MNT7.9 trillion (69.3 percent) of sales were exported.
