Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Yesterday, on February 20, athletes of the Mongolian National Football team and girls team gathered to celebrate the first ‘Day of the National Team’ at the Mongolian Football Federation.
Mongolian Football Federation is aiming to successfully complete the 2022 World Cup qualification matches. Many remarkable historical events happened in MFF over the last 20 years.
For instance, 17 years ago on February 19, 2001 Mongolian National team competed for the World Cup qualification match against the Bangladesh's team resulting the 2:2 draw, and it was the first official score in an international tournament for Mongolian National team's history.
The MFF Advisory board decided to annually mark the 'Day of the National Team’ on February 19, during its meeting.
Mongolian National Football team was established in 1956 and in 1998 they become The Fédération Internationale de Football Association's member, since joining the FIFA our footballers officially began to participate in international tournaments. Mongolian National team's first win in the World Cup qualification match was on June 29, 2011 with Myanmar's national team defeating by 1:0.
Mongolian National team will play an official friendly against the Malaysian and Mauritius national team in March.
