Speaker receives Mongolia’s Honorary Consul to Bangladesh

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On September 13, Speaker of the Parliament M.Enkhbold met with Mongolia’s Honorary Consul to Bangladesh Nasreen Fatema Awal.

Speaker M.Enkhbold conveyed gratitude to Ms. Nasreen Fatema Awal for putting great contribution towards development of bilateral ties in numerous fields.

Honorary Consul Ms. Nasreen Fatema Awal said “Visa is the pressing issue for expanding economic ties between the two countries and intensifying trade turnover and business relations. Visa issues pose difficulties for citizens and business people of Bangladesh even though they are interested in engaging in business environment of Mongolia. Thus, the sides shall be initiative towards addressing the issue and facilitating visa requirements.” She then detailed Bangladesh’s opportunity to exchange workforce and cooperate in pharmaceutical and agricultural sectors, and is interested in purchasing all kinds of raw materials from Mongolia.

The Speaker expressed Mongolia’s aspiration to develop relations and cooperation with Bangladesh as deepening bilateral and multilateral relations with Asia-Pacific countries is an important objective of Mongolia’s foreign policy, saying “Mongolia and Bangladesh need to develop cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, culture and education although they are both geographically remote and have transportation difficulties.”
He thanked the Honorary Consul for her active participation for linking businesspeople of the two countries, while voicing willingness to support it. “Inter-parliamentary cooperation is important for bilateral relations. It is important for connecting parliamentarians, strengthening their friendships and making them learn from each other and share experiences,” remarked the Speaker.

Ms. Nasreen Fatema Awal voiced that people were very interested in the exhibition of Mongolian paintings and silver articles which took place in Bangladesh recently, while voicing Bangladeshi artists’ willingness to do an art tour in Mongolia.

Present at the meeting were MP O.Baasankhuu and other officials.
