Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Chairman of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the President of the United States of America successfully concluded their historic summit with the signing of a Joint Statement on June 12th in Singapore.
In connection to the Singapore Summit, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga has sent a congratulatory message to Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Commission and the Workers’ Party of Korea.
President Battulga’s message reads:
“Let me extend my congratulations on the successful conclusion of the historic DPRK-U.S. Summit on June 12th in Singapore.
Mongolia considers the Singapore Summit to be a landmark event for not only the DPRK – U.S. relations, but also for the Northeast Asian region and the Korean Peninsula. This important accomplishment was made possible with the diligence and patience of both sides.
I have no doubt that the two sides’ commitment to work toward the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, the building of a lasting and stable peace regime in the Korean Peninsula and the establishment of new DPRK-U.S. relations will bring about significant change in the peace and security in the Korean Peninsula, as well as the Northeast Asian region and the world.
Mongolia is committed to broadening its traditional friendly relations with the DPRK. We are ready to assist and cooperate with the corresponding countries in their dialogue aimed at building peace and stability in the Northeast Asian region and the Korean Peninsula.
I would like to wish success to Your Excellency’s efforts toward national development and peaceful coexistence in the Korean Peninsula.
