Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On the occasion of International Co-operative Day, the International Co-operative Alliance and the Permanent Mission of Argentine to the United Nations co-organized an event on Sustainable Societies through Cooperation on July 5 at the UN Headquarters in New York.
Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations S.Sukhbold participated in the discussion and briefed about Mongolia’s policy and actions on cooperatives, its current situation, achievements, challenges, barriers as well as future objectives. He highlighted significance of creating favorable legal environment to develop co-operatives.
Attendees of the discussion talked over increasing role of cooperatives to fulfill sustainable development goals on clean water and sanitation, clean and affordable energy, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption and production and life on land as well as to use advantages of co-operative effectively.
Mongolia aspires to make its contribution to international efforts for the development of cooperatives and resolutions on Cooperatives in Social Development have been adopted by the UN General Assembly since 1992 biannually at the initiation of Mongolia.
