Arkhangai /MONTSAME/ Within the framework of ‘Intellectual Arkhangai’ event, international academic conference on ‘Silk Road and Nomads’ began this morning at Maidar-San tourist camp in Arkhangai aimag. The conference is being organized under a program of the UNESCO. Over 40 scholars from 12 countries are participating in the conference.
The Silk Road was the most important trade route from 115 BC to 13th century. According to the history of the World and Mongolia, cultural, scientific and religious flow had been 'travelling' through the Silk Road from east to west and west to east apart from merchants and troops, Governor of the aimag Ts.Munkhnasan highlighted and expressed his hope that the scholars and researchers will make great contributions to the local development and policy by reviewing the tradition, history, culture and customs of the nomads.
