Grain harvesting runs at 15.1 percent

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ As of September 25, 73.9 thousand tons of grain, 116.9 thousand tons of potatoes and 61.6 thousand tons of vegetables have been harvested, which means that grain harvesting is running at 15.1 percent, whilst harvesting for vegetables and potatoes is at 66.2-68.9 percent nationwide.
During the spring sowing 2018, 497.2 thousand hectares of areas were cultivated for crop, including 367.3 thousand hectares for grain of which 343.1 thousand hectares were for wheat, 13 thousand hectares for potatoes, 8.3 thousand hectares for vegetables, 68.9 thousand hectares for oil plants and 38.8 thousand hectares for fodder plants.
According to preliminary
harvesting balance, it is expected to harvest 450.3 thousand tons of grain of
which 425.8 thousand tons of wheat, 151 thousand tons of potatoes, 95.1
thousand tons of vegetables, 30.1 thousand tons of oil plants and 86.3 thousand
tons of fodder plants.
