Sharp temperature drop expected nationwide

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The National Agency of Meteorology and Environment Monitoring (NAMEM) has warned to be cautious and take actions to prevent risks as more rainfall is expected in northern parts of central aimags on August 31 and in the most regions of the country further.

It will be cloudy in central parts of the country, whilst partly-cloudy in other regions.

Rain with thunder and lightning is expected in central, gobi and eastern aimags on September 2, in western parts of western aimags, eastern parts of eastern aimags on September 3, in northern parts of western and central aimags on September 4, and in most areas of western, central and eastern aimags on September 5.

Wind will get stronger in eastern half of the country on September 2, in western parts of western aimags on September 3 and in most of the country on September 4-5, reaching 16-18m/s.

The temperature is expected to drop in eastern half of the country on September 2, and further drop in most of the country on September 5.

In the depression of Darkhad, in mountainous areas of Altai, Khangai, Khuvsgul and Khentii, in the basins of Khuren belcher, Ider and Tes rivers, the nighttime temperature will be -2 to +3 degrees, the daytime temperature will be +8 to +13 degrees Celsius.

Southern parts of gobi region will have relatively warmer nights between +11 and +16 degrees Celsius and the daily highs will hit +26 degrees Celsius.

The air temperature will drop significantly in harvesting regions towards the end of the weather forecast.
