Registered unemployed decreases by 1.2 thousand from previous year

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ At the end of September 2018, the Labor and Social Welfare Services Agencies have registered 34.0 thousand job seekers, of which 24.2 thousand or 71.1 percent were unemployed and remaining 9.8 thousand or 28.9 percent were employed but looking for a new job.
Registered unemployed was decreased by 1.2 thousand persons or 4.6 percent compared to the same time of the previous year, while it was increased by 1.1 thousand persons or 4.9 percent from the previous month. A breakdown by gender shows that 12.8 thousand or 52.9 percent were women among total number of registered unemployed.
By region, 8.9 thousand
unemployed or 36.9 percent of total registered unemployed were in Ulaanbaatar,
4.8 thousand or 19.7 percent were in Khangai region, 4.2 thousand or 17.2 percent
were in Western region, 3.9 thousand or 16.1 percent were in Central region and
2.4 thousand or 10.1 percent were in Eastern region. From total registered
unemployed at nationwide, 478 or 2.0 percent were with disabilities of which
228 or 47.7 percent were women.
