Regional Logistics Center puts into operation

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A Regional Logistics Center established in Zamyn-Uud soum of Dornogobi aimag was put into operation. PM U.Khurelsukh, MPs, Minister of Road and Transport Development, contractors and other officials attended the opening ceremony of the world standard transport and logistics center.


Construction of logistics center is financed by a soft loan of USD 40 million and grant of USD 5 million from the Asian Development Bank, and USD 26 million of the state budget.


The logistics center has 11,6 km long railway, 1.6 km long auto oad, 19 m long ferro-concrete bridge and other facilities and buildings, covers a total of 128 hectares of land. Moreover, two tower cranes with 50 tons of carrying capacity, allows to transship 620 containers a day.  


The regional logistic center is expected to give an impetus to augment transit transport, raise its efficiency, improve passing capacity of the state border checkpoint and develop mixed transport system. Specifically, it will make contribution to the development of Mongolia-Russia-China Economic Corridor and improvement of commercial and trade turnover.
