Erdenes Mongol to cooperate with research team of RMI

CEO of Erdenes Mongol LLC P.Gankhuu is taking part in the 14th Annual
General Meeting (AGM) of the Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals,
Metals and Sustainable Development being held in Geneva, Switzerland on October
15-19.
Some 500 representatives from 15 countries are taking
part in the meeting themed ‘Modern Mining Law and Policy’ to discuss the
sector’s pressing issues and the ways to address them, to share
advanced technologies, and to expand intergovernmental cooperation.
While participating in the event, Mr. P.Gankhuu exchanged
views with some delegates from other countries on outlook of mining industry
and enhancing project coordination. Specifically, he held a meeting with representatives
of the Responsible Mining Foundation (RMF), talking about the possibilities of
improving risk assessment methodology for responsible mining.
Erdenes Mongol LLC, by improving governance and management of
its subsidiaries, primarily aims to create favorable conditions for raising
taxes and dividends paid to the government as well as promoting revenue
management and investment. In this regard, the Foundation's research team agreed
to cooperate and to provide full support in improving the capacity of human
resources and training qualified specialists.
Some delegates from Mongolia’s Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry, Ministry of Environment and Tourism, General Agency for Specialized Inspection and National Human Rights Commission are also attending the 14th Annual General Meeting.
