French experts to collaborate in reducing smog and traffic jam

/MONTSAME/ Chairman of the Citizens’ Representative Khural (City Council) of Ulaanbaatar S.Amarsaikhan
visited the French Republic on October 17-20.
Within the
scope of his visit, he held meetings with Jérôme
Chartier, First Vice-President of the Île-de-France Regional Council and
Patrick Klugman, Deputy Mayor of Paris.
The Mongolian
side expressed delight toward recent activation in cooperation between the cities and
provinces and made certain proposals on broadening cooperation
further in fighting air pollution and development of infrastructure, urban planning
especially in reducing traffic jam of the capital city and on sharing experiences
by inviting French experts in these fields in Ulaanbaatar.
The French side
expressed interest to widen cooperation in these fields through
experienced agencies of Paris in air pollution, environment,
infrastructure and urban planning and agreed to engage its experts in the works on the basis of definite proposals.
In addition,
they briefed about Paris plan to mitigate air pollution until 2050 and reported about actions to be taken at stages within the plan including
making old heating systems smokeless and decreasing the number of vehicles
until 2050 and increasing use of electric cars.
The Mongolian delegates led by S.Amarsaikhan also worked in Orleans city of France on October 19.
