New wastewater treatment plant launches in Uvurkhangai

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A new wastewater treatment plant commenced in Arvaikheer city of Uvurkhangai aimag. The MNT 9.88 billion plant was financed by the ‘Southeast Gobi Urban and Border Town Development Project’ of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Mongolia.

The contractor Comfort Impex LLC has completed the work, planned for two years 10 months prior to the date.

The new plant has a capacity of 3,000 cubic meters, which is 6 time the capacity of the old one, and can remove up to 99 percent of all impurities from sewage.

With the commencement of wastewater treatment plant fully constructed by Mongolian engineers, the locals will not face the sewage pipe and cleaning facility problems over next 25 years.
