Joint project on special needs education to be implemented

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports Ts.Tsogzolmaa. who is on visit to the Russian Federation, met with Minister of Enlightenment of Russia Olga Vasilieva on November 19.

 

During the meeting, the Ministers exchanged views on the cooperation directions, agreeing to realize certain projects and programs. 

 

To overspread Russian language and culture in Mongolia, they agreed to cooperate in implementing projects on educating and specializing Russian language teachers, organizing Russian language Olympiad among youth and rendering full support from the two Ministries to studying the winners of the Olympiad with scholarships.


Furthermore, the sides agreed to implement children exchange program at governmental level and reciprocally receive children in Artek and Nairamdal international children's centers and to organize biggest event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory of Khalkh Gol Battle in August, 2019, involving children and youths of the two countries  

 

An independent law on disabled people was adopted in Russia in 2013.  There are 1664 special needs schools and the country adheres standards and special programs on special needs school.

 

Minister Ts.Tsogzolmaa expressed willingness to revive tradition on educating special needs education teachers in Russia and the sides agreed to sharing experience and introducing necessary curriculum and standards in Mongolia.
