Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On November 17, the Mongolian National
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) and the Mongolian Agency for
Standardization And Metrology co-organized the ‘Quality Forum – 2018’ event on
occasion of the World Quality Day. It brought together nearly 200 people from
public organizations and NGOs and touched upon an issue of infrastructure for the
quality of exporting goods.
Mongolia has been marking the World Quality Day and the
National Quality Week since early 2000s after the government had endorsed a national
program on promotion of quality and environmental management, aiming at
improving quality and competitiveness of Mongolian products and services
through supporting the national industrialization, increasing the export
capability and accelerating actions of introducing international standards of
quality and environment management.
Countries across the globe celebrate this day under a certain
slogan. As for this year, Mongolia marked the day under a slogan ‘Quality
Creates Confidence’ considering that the quality is usually one of the key
parts of economic priorities in many countries. The understanding of quality is
closely related to the living standards which include environment, physical and
psychological well-being.
During the event, the National Quality prize was awarded to those enterprises that provided consumers with high-standard goods and services and contributed to improving the competitiveness of national industry, increasing exports and creating import-substituted goods. For ensuring the both national and international standards, the ‘Khanbogd Cashmere’ LLC received the top quality production award, while the ‘Terra Express’ LLC took the top quality service award. The top corporation award went to the ‘Energy Resources’ LLC. In accordance with a rule, these companies are allowed to use a mark of the award for their commercial purposes.
