Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/. Minister of Health S. Enkhbold received Ambassador of Cuba in Mongolia Jorge Ferrer on March 15.

The Ambassador expressed an interest in introducing and sharing Cuban advancements in medicine, especially biotechnology, in the Mongolian health sector, and put forth some suggestions. He also briefed on the Cuban government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and provided some information about vaccines developed by Cuba’s biotechnological companies.

The two sides reaffirmed commitment to work together in the areas reflected in the Memorandum of Understanding signed in April between the Ministries of Health of the two countries.

Under the MoU, the two Ministries of Health agreed to cooperate in the areas of communicable and non-communicable disease control, prevention, medicine, pharmacy, biotechnology research, and primary health care.
