Ulaanbaatar, December 2, 2025 /MONTSAME/. Minister of Family, Labour and Social Protection, Aubakir Tilyeukhan, received the Director of the ILO Country Office for China and Mongolia, Changhee Lee, on December 2, 2025.

During the meeting, Minister Aubakir expressed appreciation to the International Labour Organization for its significant contribution and continued efforts in enhancing coordination between the Government, employers’ organizations, and workers’ representatives, as well as for supporting the effective implementation of both short- and long-term projects and programs.

The Minister also expressed Mongolia’s interest in cooperating with the ILO in expanding the youth employment support project to other sectors, studying the experiences of Germany and the Korean Occupational Safety and Health Agency within the framework of legal reforms on labor safety and health,  as well as working together to promote awareness among young people about the benefits of employment and social insurance.

Mr. Changhee Lee emphasized, “Improving working conditions, increasing productivity, and strengthening human resource development are key drivers to enhance youth development. Particular focus will be given to expand the scope and impact of ILO projects.”

He added that the ILO will continue its support for Mongolia’s legal and regulatory reforms and the country’s efforts to ratify ILO Conventions No. 81 and No. 129 on Labor Inspection, as well as Convention No. 187 on Promotional Framework for Occupational Safety and Health.

The two sides exchanged views on the projects being jointly implemented and their outcomes, strengthening the tripartite social partnership system, increasing youth participation in the labor market, and linking wage increases with productivity growth.
