Int’l airport project reaches 60 percent completion
PoliticsUlaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ In frames of the “Hour of Solution”, the Prime Minister Ch.Saikhanbileg visited Khoshig Valley on Wednesday to get familiarized with the road building and construction of Ulaanbaatar international airport.
A 8.6-km road, connecting Yarmag post to the Turgen River bridge, opened traffic on September 30. The road has been built by Yalguusan LLC within one month. Accordingly, a construction of the road to connect Ondordov tourism camp to Khoshig Valley will start next spring.
The project executor is Mitsubishi-Chiyoda Consortium. the contractor is Samsung C&T. Some 2,100 staffers and professional engineers from 40 Mongolian companies, and 20 companies from Japan, S.Korea, Singapore, China and the Czech Republic, as well as 220 machines and equipment are operating on a daily basis, said N.Enkhbat, the director of Project Implementation Unit.
The project implementation is going with 60 percent, ahead of the planned timeframe. Some 80 percent of staffers are the Mongolians.
