Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Chairman of the State Great Khural (parliament) Z.Enkhbold  delivered Wednesday a speech regarding the irregular session of parliament, scheduled the same day.

This session was postponed due an absence of MPs. Present were only 60% of Democratic Party faction and two from Civil Will-Green party. None of the Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) faction and independent were seen, he underlined.

The agenda of the irregular session included a draft law on joining the 1997 Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management. This was protested Wednesday by many civilians and NGOs, near the State House, so the agendas has been altered to add another bill on banning an entry of spent fuel, nuclear and radioactive waste.

The Speaker urged the MPP faction to be active in the irregular session "because it is urgent to discuss the above matters".
