Mongolia and Japan hold fifth consultative meeting

On April 24, the fifth Consultative Meeting between authorities for foreign
relations, security and defense of Mongolia and Japan was held in Tokyo, Japan.
The meeting was co-chaired
by E.Sarantogos, Director General of the Asia-Pacific Department at the Foreign
Affairs Ministry of Mongolia, and K.Kanasugi, Director General of the Asian and
Oceanian Affairs Bureau of the Japanese Foreign Ministry, with attendance of
representatives of the National Security Council, Ministry of Foreign Affairs
and Ministry of Defense of the two countries.
The meeting discussed about deepening Mongolia-Japan Strategic Partnership in the fields of politics, security and defense sectors, and exchanged views on short and long-term objectives of the bilateral cooperation in the fields. Moreover, the parties reviewed current situation of Asia and the Pacific and exchanged information on some international and regional issues.
The parties emphasized the significance of the consultative meeting being organized within the objective
to strengthen Mongolia-Japan Strategic Partnership and asserted their position for
strengthening this mechanism further.
