State titles and medals conferred on peacekeepersPolitics
Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/.There are currently 14 peacekeeping missions led by the United Nations engaging over a hundred thousand peacekeepers from 125 countries.
After joining the peacekeeping efforts in 2002, Mongolia has deployed over 17 thousand peacekeepers in the missions.The 8th Infantry Battalion of the Mongolian Armed Forces returned home this week after successfully completing their duties under the United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS).
A ceremony was held today at the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces for awarding the peacekeepers who upheld the reputation of the Mongolian Armed Forces and completed their mission with high honor and professionalism.
Present at the ceremony were, President of Mongolia and Commander-in-Chief of the Mongolian Armed Forces Khaltmaagiin Battulga, Minister of Defense N.Enkhbold, Head of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Security and Foreign Policy T.Ayursaikhan, Chief of the General Staff of the Mongolian Armed Forces, Major General D.Ganzorig, high-ranking officers from the Ministry of Defense, the General Authority for Border Protection, the National Police Agency, and the National Emergency Management Agency, as well as the families of the peacekeepers.
