Tsagaannuur, Altanbulag border checkpoints to be closed temporarily

Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the State Emergency Commission U.Enkhtuvshin reported that the Cabinet resolved at its irregular meeting held on March 22  to temporarily close Tsagaannuur and Altanbulag border checkpoints, not allowing any citizen to cross them.


The country is receiving its citizens abroad through Tsagaannnuur and Altanbulag border crossings. However, it was decided to close the two border crossings for a while as there is insufficient access of temporary accommodation for quarantine to the citizens entered through the border checkpoints.


By doing so, Tsagaannuur border checkpoint will be closed at 23 pm tonight, March 23 while Altanbulag border crossing will be closed from 06 am of Saturday, this week or March  28.


Around 400 citizens have been placed into quarantine in each temporary accommodations in Bayan-Ulgii, Darkhan-Uul and Selenge aimags.

Mongolian students studying in the Russian Federation come back through Altanbulag border checkpoint. Therefore, it was planned to repatriate the students studying in the Russian Federation under united organization in the future.
