Joint efforts to enhance economic relations with China amid COVID-19 pandemic discussed

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/.  On April 1, Minister of Foreign Affairs D.Tsogtbaatar and Minister of Road and Transport B.Enkh-Amgalan held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Mongolia Chai Wenru.


At the meeting, where measures being carried out by the governments of Mongolia and China to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic were touched on, the sides exchanged views on bringing forward the initiative on having a regional cooperation mechanism to enable effective and swift response to the pandemic. 


The sides then agreed that more active collaboration is needed to mitigate the coronavirus' negative impacts on the Mongolian-Chinese bilateral trading volume and economic partnership. 


The both sides also agreed to accelerate joint efforts to increase the trade turnover volume to MNT 10 billion and take all feasible measures to resume normal trade of coal, which plays an important part in the relationship.
