Mongolia-France economic cooperation discussed

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Deputy Prime Minister Ya.Sodbaatar today received Ambassador of the French Republic to Mongolia Philippe Merlin.


The Deputy PM expressed his delight for the relations and cooperation of the two countries, which are celebrating their 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations, that have been developing in various social and economic areas. “We are grateful to the Government of France on providing support to strengthen capacity of disaster protection of Mongolia. The Government will render all-round supports for the effective implementation of ongoing important projects at the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).”  


"A project 'Establishment of a unit responsible for emergency air rescue operations at NEMA and distribution of helicopter and firefighting vehicles" has been resolved to be carried out with soft loan of EUR 57.9 million to be granted by the French Government. The launch of the project has been delayed due to the pandemic" the Deputy PM informed. 


The sides talked over possibilities of receiving French specialists, who are needed to work and conduct training in Mongolia.  


They also mutually exchanged opinions on broadening economic cooperation as well as seeking all possible variations and solutions to continue joint projects and programs without any hindrance in coherent with measures in place amid the heightened state of readiness.
