‘Green Channel’ to be effective for one month at Gashuunsukhait border point

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The cabinet today, May 12, convened for a regular meeting and reviewed presentation on the working trip by Prime Minister L. Oyun-Erdene to Umnugobi aimag between May 6 and 7. After the presentation, corresponding government ministers and officials were charged to take the following actions: 


  • In connection with the transmission of the pandemic virus at the border region, to enforce cross-border ‘Green Channel’ temporary regulation at the Gashuunsukhait border crossing checkpoint neighboring with China in Umnugobi aimag for the duration of one month with a view to ensure normal operations 
  • To reach agreement with the Chinese side on railway technologies at the Gashuunsukhait-Gantsmod border crossing point of Mongolia and China and resolve source funding issues related to the development of a feasibility study and design as well as construction for a railway station and transport loading facility, 
  • To continue the construction of the Tavantolgoi-Zuunbayan railway in the near future by settling for the incomplete funds for the development, 
  • To study proposals for appointing an authorized representative of the government at the border point.
