Commissioners put through the test of ballot-counting machine

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. The National Human Rights Commission of Mongolia (NHRCM) and the General Election Commission are cooperating for the event of 2021 Presidential Election of Mongolia. 


On 19 May 2021, Commissioners Sunjid Dugar and Munkhzul Khurelbaatar put through the test of ballot-counting machine by checking the validity of ballot papers marked with each candidate and casting mixed votes and white ballot paper.


During the visit, the NHRCM recommended to pay special attention to accessible environment of people with disabilities and to ensure the privacy and confidentiality of electors when placing surveillance cameras in polling station committees.


The GEC briefed on the process of ensuring the encryption of the ballot-counting machine when delivering them to the local areas as well as the preparations for polling abroad.


Within the framework of the cooperation, the parties are working on developing and delivering election leaflets for conscripts, people arrested with administrative and criminal charges, people with disabilities, and people isolated during the COVID-19 pandemic.
