Prime Minister meets Chinese President

On February 6, Prime Minister of Mongolia and chairman of Mongolian People’s Party (MPP) L.Oyun-Erdene had a meeting with President of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Xi Jinping in Beijing, China.


During the meeting, the parties exchanged wide-range of views on elevating Mongolia-China comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights, making the ties between the countries a model example of international relations, intensifying development projects to be implemented between the governments, cohering policy documents as well as strengthening relations and cooperation between the political parties. The parties agreed to elevate the Mongolia-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to a new level.


At the outset of the meeting, Prime Minister L. Oyun-Erdene congratulated Chinese government and its people on the on-time holding of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics amid the difficult period of the pandemic. He also thanked China for the supply of COVID-19 vaccines to Mongolia during the critical time.


PM noted that ‘Vision 2050’ long-term development policy and ‘New Revival Policy’ of the Government of Mongolia are in line with China's development policies such as the ‘Global Development Initiative’ and the ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative. He also asked Chinese President to pay special attention to large projects, particularly the railroad construction at Gashuunsukhait-Gantsmod checkpoints and the construction of Altanbulag-Zamyn Uud highway, which were discussed at the meeting of Premiers during the visit.    


The Chinese President thanked Mr. Oyun-Erdene for his visit expressing Mongolia’s full support for the XXIV Winter Olympic Games, and asked the PM to convey his sincere greetings to Mongolian President U. Khurelsukh.


Mr. Xi Jinping expressed confidence that the projects and programs set by new Government of Mongolia will become a real work, and expressed his support and cooperation in all aspects.


He said Mongolia and China are friendly neighbors connected by mountains and waters, and important neighbors in the region, while stressing that protecting, strengthening and developing bilateral relations will fully meet long-term and core interests of both countries.
