Earlier the Parties made a statement that they would form a Coalition Government.
As a result of the ninth election of the State Great Khural
that was held on June 28, 2024 the MPP won 68 of the 126 seats, the DP obtained
42 seats while the Hun Party secured eight seats, with the Civil Will-Green
Party and the National Coalition each securing four seats.
Prime Minister of Mongolia and MPP Chairman Mr. Oyun-Erdene noted “More than 30 years have passed since Mongolia transitioned to a democratic parliamentary system. The Government has commenced a new 30 years to correct the mistakes of the past 30 years since its establishment. In this regard, the "Vision-2050" long-term development policy was approved, after the discussion by the leaders of political parties and society. Development policy planning has been unstable since 1990. Also, numerous projects stopped in the middle of the process. Many citizens were not able to be represented. Parliament should represent the people. In this context, the political parties in the parliament jointly made legal reforms. The establishment of a proportional system by the Constitution ensures that every vote counts, and society is becoming more involved. The opportunity to form a coalition government has been provided. It will also ensure the control of each other."
