Over 400 Foreign Tourists Join First Sunrise Train Journey of the New Year

Ulaanbaatar, January 2, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The traditional First Sunrise of the New Year train tour, organized by Ulaanbaatar Railway (UBTZ), was held on January 1, 2026.
More than 500 domestic and international participants joined the event this year, traveling on the Ulaanbaatar–Bagakhangai route. The tour attracted numerous foreign visitors, including staff members of the Embassies of the United States of America and Japan, as well as tourists from Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, Canada, Taiwan, and Malaysia. Japanese visitors alone accounted for 324 participants, representing more than half of all travelers.
During the journey, a ceremonial bonfire was lit, a traditional tsam dance was performed, and folk art performances were presented, drawing strong interest from the tourists.
