Events in Ulaanbaatar:
January 7: A regular session of the Cabinet of Mongolia will be held at the State Palace.
January 8–11: The National Adult Championships in Greco-Roman and Freestyle Wrestling will take place at the Central Sports Palace.
January 10: The “Talkh Chikher” festival and traditional Mongol wrestling tournament featuring 256 wrestlers, including aimag and army-titled wrestlers as well as young competitors, will be held.
January 11: A traditional Mongol wrestling tournament featuring 256 wrestlers, including state, aimag, army, and soum-titled wrestlers, as well as young wrestlers, will be held to mark the 65th anniversary of Darkhan-Uul aimag.
- The joint exhibition “UNITY” by visual arts artists will be on display at HUE Art Gallery until January 15, 2026.
- Nationwide military registration for 2026 is underway via the E-Mongolia system until January 31, 2026.

- The exhibition “Traditional Mongolian Clothing and Jewelry” is open at the National Museum of Mongolia until February 2, 2026.
- Entries for the competition themed “Introducing Recycled PET Plastic Packaging for Food Use” will be accepted until February 2, 2026.
- The “Store Pay Winter Land” winter attraction at the National Sports Stadium will continue until March 10, 2026.
Local Events:
January 7: The Governor’s Office of Ulaanbadrakh soum, Dornogobi aimag, will organize a soum-level horseman competition aimed at preserving national heritage and testing the skills of young horse herders.
Events Abroad:
The special exhibition “Mongolia: A Journey Through Time” is on display at the Museum Rietberg in Zurich, Switzerland, until February 26, 2026.
