Mongolian Athletes Win Six Medals at Asian MMA Championship

Ulaanbaatar, January 12, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Mongolian athletes won six medals at the Asian Senior Mixed Martial Arts Championship held in Luzhou, Sichuan Province, China.
At the tournament, which brought together competitors from more than 30 Asian countries, Mungunshagai Enkhbold captured the silver medal in the men’s 96 kg category, while Unenkhuu Enkhjin secured silver in the 120 kg division. Last year, Mungunshagai claimed the gold medal in Cambodia, where the Mongolian national anthem was played in his honor. Although he once again advanced to the final this year, he settled for silver, becoming a two-time Asian Championship medalist.
In the women’s 49 kg category, Enkhjin Narantur won the bronze medal, while Adiya Altangerel (65 kg), Purevbaatar Bat-Ulzii (77 kg), and Dashnyam A. (85 kg) earned bronze medals in the men’s divisions, raising the Mongolian national flag in the skies over Luzhou. Mongolia sent 14 athletes to this continental championship, six of whom returned home with medals.
Organized by the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Federation, the championship also serves as a qualifying event for the 20th Asian Summer Games, Aichi–Nagoya 2026, and the 6th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, Riyadh 2026.
