National Committee for Organizing COP17 Holds 12th Meeting

Ulaanbaatar, January 14, 2026 /MONTSAME/. The National Committee responsible for organizing the 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) held its 12th meeting on January 12 in the "Ikh Zasag" hall of the State Palace.
At the meeting, the National Committee discussed several issues, including procurement related to interim facilities, events, and projects to be organized in the Blue Zone of the COP17 Conference, within the framework of implementing Government Resolution No. 231 dated December 24, 2025. It was also decided to establish a working group to manage the procurement of rental services from an organization experienced in hosting international events, in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
They also reviewed the progress of efforts to approve the
National Committee’s 2026 General Action Plan and discussed the key challenges
and pressing issues.
