Guidance Issued to Ensure Uninterrupted Production, Supply of Staple Foods

Ulaanbaatar, January 15, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Guidance has been issued to food chain stores, markets, shopping centers, and manufacturing enterprises to ensure uninterrupted production and supply of staple food products and to refrain from any actions that restrict competition or violate consumer rights.


The guidance also urges wholesale and retail traders not to raise prices or create artificial shortages and to comply with legislation strictly, Deputy Prime Minister Dorjkhand Togmid reported at the regular session of the Cabinet of Mongolia on January 14, 2026. He provided this information while presenting on the implementation of competition legislation and measures being carried out by the Anti-Monopoly Agency.


Since the beginning of this year, the Anti-Monopoly Agency has established a working group to conduct preventive measures, provide guidance, and carry out inspections of the sale and pricing of essential food products, as well as the operations of enterprises.
